When I was growing up in the United States in the 1960s and 70s, short hair on women was considered scandalous and decidedly not beautiful.

That has mostly changed here now, though not completely.

It’s funny how social standards and beauty change over time. I’m pretty sure that here in the US things changed because women took ideas of beauty into their own hands, insisting they had the right to decide how they best felt beautiful.
