When conservative Christians start demanding that infertile people be denied the religious rite of marriage, then some people might begin to take their fetid bleatings about restricting marriage seriously. Or not.

In the meantime, I don't know very many people who really give a flip what conservative Christians think about marriage. They don't own the institution, as much as a certain Republican Congressperson broke down in tears in the House when she wanted to convince her colleagues otherwise.

When people like this man you're critiquing make such ridiculous arguments, how's it really happens is that people love and despise conservative Christians even more as the ignorant idiots they are.
