What’s most infuriating to me is that the ringleaders and power brokers who made this happen are going to get away with it. Merrick Garland’s little excuse-making speech yesterday made that pretty darn clear. He’s going to hem and haw, duck and weave, and talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk, but not come down with the full hammer of the federal government on the political leaders who did this.

I’m fine sending the actual Invaders of the capital of prison for a long time. I’m not fine at all with the people who called them out facing virtually zero consequences.

But I’m all but certain that zero consequences is going to be the outcome. Garland’s song and dance yesterday told that story with clarity.
