What is so astonishing about this is that the laws in question limiting access to the polls aren’t even disguised.

The Republican Party has made perfectly clear they know that if they don’t keep Black people and other minorities from the polls, they can’t win elections.

It’s not a coincidence why these laws are proliferating in states across the Union. Republicans have told us exactly why they’re doing it. Over and over.

That these conservative justices pretend this isn’t happening reflects great shame and discredit on them.

The very existence of representative democracy in the United States is at stake, and the outcome is far from certain.

If Republicans manage to entrench white minority rule for generations, these justices will go down in history as democracy’s executioners.
