Well, that is exactly how we LGBTQ people do see them, and how we talk about them. And, of course, we know more than anyone that we live all sorts of different lives and that "lifestyle" is a meaningless term applied to our diverse communities. We seldom understand why religious people talk about our lifestyles -- expect that we sometimes get the idea that religious people are using the word as a euphemism for how we have sex.
