What an interesting problem, though I hope my use of the word interesting doesn’t imply lack of empathy.

It hadn’t occurred to me how much frontline medical professionals have to deal with the covid19 crisis on their own. Home should be a refuge, but sometimes sharing is part of that refuge.

I experienced this dichotomy to a much less emotional degree when I was an intelligence officer in the Air Force with a high-level security clearance.

My colleagues and I could literally not discuss our work days with our significant others without committing a felony. In some ways, this made home more of a refuge, because putting work aside was rather mandatory.

But in other ways it made seeking out support difficult. We got offered some seminars from a consultant who specialized in how to handle such issues.

I found them helpful. I wonder if medical professionals have access to tools like that.
