What an interesting article! I asked to join the Cub Scouts once and later the Boy Scouts, but my religious parents said no, Scouting was too "secular."

I've occasionally wondered how I as a somewhat effeminate gay boy would have fared in Scouting. I enjoyed camping and fishing, so who knows.
