What an excellent argument for educating American students much better about the scientific process. We teach our kids in school lots of facts about scientific discoveries, but we barely sketch out the scientific method or teach real literacy about how scientists talk among themselves.

Since I was an AIDS activist in the 1990s, I’ve watched people fundamentally misunderstand scientists because they lack knowledge of how science works.

We need to do a better job fixing this basic societal problem.
