What a piece of work Gatiss is! Notice, btw, that he cites Paul, John Calvin, and Thomas Aquinas in his hateful little jeremiad, but he doesn't mention Jesus even once to justify the idea that God hates and curses LGBTQ people, or that affirming LGBTQ people is ipso facto heretical.

Also, note that Calvin himself had a reputation for extraordinary mean-spiritedness and even cruelty. So, it's instructive that Gatiss cites Calvin instead of Jesus.

Also, he notes at the end that progressive theologies are "correlated" to a drop in church attendance, but when people tell pollsters they've lost faith in church attendance because they don't like mean-spirited people like Gatiss, I suppose we'd better take them at face value.
