What a great letter! Remember when we all used to do things like this?
When I was about 18 years old, my grandmother gave me a shoe box full of letters that her mom and dad had written to one another while he was away training for and serving in World War 1.
Just reading about all the little mundane details of their lives was amazing. The combination of formal language and chattiness that was popular in the early 20th century was funny.
Sadly, that shoebox has disappeared and nobody in the family knows what happened to it.
