What a beautiful, thoughtful story!

And how counter-narrative it is to transphobic tropes.

Tucker Lieberman published an article last week in P&P pushing back against a book recently published by a member of the "LGB without the T" crowd. The author is a cisgender gay man who argues that accepting trans people equals homophobia and conversion therapy, because (he claims) trans women are really just gay men who have bought into falsehoods.

Your story doesn't fit that narrative at all, nor do many of the stories real trans people share.

I realize that's not the point of your story, which I understand and appreciate because you told it so well.

But I did want to put it out there that talking to REAL trans people like you might help some people get over their misunderstandings.
