We’ve seen a bit of that with special forces here in the US too. When Trump infamously championed a Seal who had allegedly committed war crimes, lots of people wondered if something systemic had gone wrong with command and control.
I don’t know. I’m not suggesting command and control hierarchy should disappear. It can’t. But social hierarchy can, I think, with positive consequences.
Perhaps allowing collaboration and creativity doesn’t have to mean allowing unrestrained independence of action.
