Well, yes 1.6 million people is a lot of people in total numbers, but less than one person in a hundred is still a very small minority. I mention this to counter a fear-mongering notion that trans people are somehow dominating society or could if they wanted to. My rhetoric isn’t my idea, btw. I’m echoing mainstream transgender advocacy organizations run by trans people — using the language they suggest in order to stay “on page” with their messaging.
