Well, the queer Catholics at DignityUSA have been fighting for decades for meaningful reform. I think they believe they have a shot at succeeding, and therefore at making the world a better place for queer people everywhere. Can they actually succeed? I don't know. But unlike certain clergy in the church, like Father James Martin, they have tremendous integrity.

Unlike Martin, they never support or pretend to support Church doctrines and dogma that hurt queer people.

Because Martin does support those things, I feel nothing for him except contempt. I suppose he's something like the Catholics you're talking about.

But as far as I know, the Catholics involved in DignityUSA hold onto nothing but the purest and most dignified beliefs and practices.
