Well, that’s quite debatable. Many religious teachings are admirable, and many people raised with religion do very well in life, living up to all the ideals of tolerance and mutual acceptance that progressive secularists like me value. Obviously, it’s a mixed bag, given the intolerance and judgmentalism of other religions.
What’s not a mixed bag, though, is denying children an education and the ability to make their own choices in life as adults.
