Well said! Ultimately, queer Mormons have a choice: live as theirselves or leave the Church and all the social networks and life that are part of belonging. It's not a shunning, but it's a stark distancing.
Back in November of 2015, the LDS Church even ripped families part with its infamous "November Policy" that denied adolescents and young adults full membership in the Church unless they denounced their queer parents.
Fortunately, that policy has been rescinded, but the Church has not been shy about continuing its homophobic practices and policies, including supporting and practicing conversion therapy, which is completely ineffective and extraordinarily harmful.
If all of the above is love, then Mormons have twisted the word love into something ugly and terrible.
