Well said! I mean, none of this is likely to sway dyed-in-the-wool homophobes, but there's so much meat in here for thoughtful parents who really are trying to do the best for their kids.
You know, LGBTQ adolescents often report that coming out to parents is one of the most stressful things they've ever had to do.
I hope that some parents, after reading your story, will think about that and take some thoughtful steps to be just a bit more supportive, whether their kids are LGBTQ or not.
That would be great for their kids, their kids' friends, and society at large!
