Well, believe it or not, the Supreme Court case Lawrence v Texas declared sodomy laws unconstitutional after cops in Texas arrested a gay couple for having sex in the privacy of their own home, charging them with the crime of sodomy.

Obviously, Texas wasn’t arresting and jailing all gay men having sex, not even anywhere close to all gay men. But Texas did sometimes use that law, when they had evidence, and most often directed at the most marginalized in society.
