We writers normally achieve clarity either by defining our terms carefully or by using words in their commonly understood context. When we veil our meaning by using terms imprecisely or when we don’t provide definition or context, we’re often called dense or even pretentious. Good writing is writing in which the meaning is clear, not obfuscated.

I bet if you worked at it, you could rewrite that response well enough that most people could receive meaningful information from it.
