We, the American people, have become inured to and have accepted police killings as inevitable. Some of our apathy is surely racist, and some of it is probably hopelessness.
Outrage fatigue works against sustained reaction when incidence is so high.
We must stand up collectively and demand a policing system that doesn’t result in the constant murders of Black people.
We must demand to join the ranks of other developed nations where such murders are extraordinarily rare.
Will we build on this summer’s momentum, or will we let it drop again?
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not going to fix this for us. Only we as a people can demand the necessary change.
