Very much so, Benny Phi. Expressing ourselves when we have things that need to be said is critical and empowering. Not just for ourselves, either. That’s one of the reasons I was so distraught after Quora banned my account at the end of January. I had found a platform to express myself, then it was unceremoniously yanked away by people who were uncomfortable with my queer voice.

“Calm down and get along” was the implicit message. “Take the crumbs we’ve so magnanimously provided you from heteronormative and cisnormative table.

Be quiet and be a good boy.”

Right. Not gonna happen.

I’m glad to have a platform here, and I'm glad you’ve found it too!
