Very much so. I wrote an article not too long ago about this Latino kid in Texas who got suspended from school and then sent to a special disciplinary school because he wore his hair in a ponytail, which was entirely appropriate and normal in his family and culture.
White Texans, who say they love constitutional freedom so much they don’t have to wear masks or get vaccinated, treated this kid and his family like absolute shit because they wouldn’t get with the white program.
Constitutional freedoms are evidently supposed to apply only to white Texans, while Texans of color bow down to the master and do what they’re told.
The ACLU soon stepped in, and eventually a federal judge ordered those white Texans to stop violating people’s constitutional rights, but not before a whole lot of damage got done.
And just to make it all extra special, the reason the school went after the Latino kid in the first place had nothing to do with him. They were targeting a transgender kid whose hair they didn’t like, and the Latino kid got pinned down under the constitutional salvo.
