Very few teachers were fired. Most of them were pressured to resign or did so because they wanted out of Dodge. This settlement will likely not help either group.

In a universe more bent toward justice, Federal courts would have struck Florida's law down, and that precedent would have applied to other states.

Unfortunately, this is going to be a state-to-state battle for the time being.
