Unless you are cisgender and straight, and then sexuality is just fine, almost all the time.
The respectability of discussing cis/straight sexuality is baked into our society. Oh, I don't mean explicitly describing sex acts. We routinely use language tricks to talk about having sex or making love without being explicit. But we talk about it!
It's only when your sexuality departs from straightness that you're not supposed to discuss it at all, not even with allusions.
I would imagine that being a bisexual person would make someone quite aware of the double standard. So I thank you for writing about this!
