Unfortunately, inclusive is a slippery term with different definitions for different churches. LGBTQ people looking for a church that will offer them full participation may be disappointed (as Gabriel was) if they rely on “inclusive” as a guidepost.

For the moment, the one term everyone can count on is “affirming.” While some degree of variation exists, it’s rare to encounter an affirming church that discriminates against LGBTQ people.
