Unfortunately, I expect that this independent investigation will resemble similar ones, in which an outside law enforcement agency investigates another law enforcement agency, and in a conscious upholding of the thin blue line, find that their counterparts did nothing wrong.

I hope that's not how it goes, but it's the usual course of things.
