Uncle Oscar, as he is often called in gay circles, may be more well known for his celebrated Ballad of Reading Gaol, so far as personal reflections go, but this collection is definitely worth a long look.

One wonders how his thinking may or may not have changed as he lay dying a premature death in exile, all but alone, abandoned by most of his friends.
