Twitter is a low-return platform for finding readers. I have almost 14k Twitter followers, and even though I tweet every story I write with very carefully constructed promo blurbs, I often don’t see much of a return.

But SOMETIMES I do.

Sometimes, and for no reason I can figure or take steps to reproduce, I’ll get huge numbers of actual readers from a tweet.

So for me, the strategy is to keep tweeting but not to let Twitter suck me in and waste my time.

And that ain’t easy! Really smart people with degrees in how to manipulate people have designed Twitter from top to bottom to suck people in and waste their time.

But usually manage to find a balance.

Usually. ;-)
