Twitter has gone from being a cesspit to being a dumpster fire, in my opinion, since Elon Musk took over. I've used the platform for 5 years to promote my stories and Prism & Pen stories. I've always attracted responses from right-wing trolls, but things are far worse now than in the past.

I can tweet about pretty much anything, trans related or not, and if I include LGBTQ or queer, people answer with just astonishing anti-trans smears and lies. Of course, if I do use the word transgender, then the negative response is magnified even more. Many such responses are intensely personal and verge on being threats of actual violence.

Before Musk took over, I could report those kinds of responses and have most of them deleted. Not anymore.

Hell, I reported a tweet not so long ago in which a conservative Christian urged, "May they all burn" in a context that made clear she was talking about queer people burning to death in church fires if they gather together in affirming churches.

I reported the tweet figuring it was a clear cut no-go for Twitter even under Musk. Surely, I thought, it's not okay to use Twitter to incite arson.

I was wrong, the tweet was found not to have violated any rules.

That's how bad things are right now.
