Try being a volunteer editor for a Medium pub. That’ll cure you with a quickness! In my capacity as a pub editor, I’ve had to learn how to truly HELP other writers put their best work forward without hurting their feelings or making them feel like their work isn’t already very good — which it is or I wouldn’t even be looking at it.

I’m not saying I always get the mix right. I’m human and I make as many or more mistakes as anyone. But I do think my experiences over the past year have helped me become more sensitive and helpful with other writers.
