I made a guest presentation once at the invitation of a friend who teaches rhetoric at the PhD level, and I offered up that statement to begin my talk. Nobody laughed at me, so maybe I was on to something.
Storytelling is what I do, and while I may not often have my nose in a book of formal rhetoric, rhetoric is a very important part of storytelling, I think.
If we want to make the world a better place, we have to tell engaging and effective stories about that place.
