Yeah, it's like ... you have to swallow hard sometimes and promote the story the way it really feels to you. Even if that makes you uncomfortable, like you're violating a social norm. Though, from what I know of Devon, he would never think you were using him by writing about something that means a lot to you.
That's why we writers write. We have something to say and if somebody springboards off us, then yay. We're evidently doing something right.
That goes for me, you, Devon, whoever. Some us like Devon are more well known than others, but I don't think that changes much about how we feel about our writing.
