This piece really resonates with me, Jim, having moved to Chelsea in March of 1990. My late partner (he didn’t live long enough for me to marry him) and I were gay bashed near the Christopher St pier in 1992. Or was is 93? I’m pretty sure they were from New Jersey.

Our friend joined the Pink Panthers. I joined Act Up.

In 1999, I found the concept of same-sex marriage a little puzzling, maybe even a distraction, if you want to know the truth.

How far we’ve come!

And now with Trump, how possibly precarious our victories feel. But march on we must!
