This paragraph feels particularly on point this morning, after secret recordings came out last night about Justice Samuel Alito stating that the U.S. needs to become a more "godly" nation, in a conversation having to do with his role on the Supreme Court.

Well, we've already seen what his version of godliness means: ripping away women's rights to control their own bodies, to to control their own reproduction.

In the same set of recordings, Alito's wife complained bitterly that she has to see a Pride flag waving in her neighborhood.

The Alito version of "godliness" evidently means that members of gender and sexual minorities to be silent and bow to the "godly," just like you were expected to do as a teenager.

I'm so glad you escaped that cruel, misogynistic world, and I hope with the fiercest possible hope that monsters like the Alitos fail in their quest to lock up Americans back up into a prison of social control.
