This may be one of Trump’s biggest campaign disasters, however. Disparaging the military is just not something Republicans stand for.

As a former enlisted Marine and later an Air Force intelligence officer, I’m still kind of plugged into military sentiment. What I’m seeing is unprecedented.

Military members are turning against Trump in large numbers, which is just unheard of for a Republican president.

Last week, Trump’s support from the military actually fell slightly below 50% for the first time.

I expect after the impact of this Atlantic article hits the military streets, his support numbers will slip even further.

I think Trump’s hubris is finally catching up with him. His popularity simply isn’t as permanent and unrevocable as he thought it was. It seems the more we get to know him, the less there is to like.
