This makes me wonder about something. One of my favorite films is The Hours, which tells an interconnected story over generations with Virginia Woolf at the heart of things. In the end, it's something of a story about a man living with AIDS and a woman who loves him and doesn't know how to cope with his imminent passing.
The interconnected threads of the story don't come together until the very end, but a brilliant score by Philip Glass ties the whole thing together from the first moment.
I wonder if the filmmakers thought of commissioning Glass for the original score based on the commission you're writing about here.
