This is very difficult to read, and very powerful. I think I've stayed emotionally disengaged from your series of stories because they dredge up too many memories I feel I need to hold at a distance.

But I was not able to stay disengaged this time. My voice is breaking as I attempt to dictate, and I find myself having to type instead.
