You've turned your private musings about the possible existence of transgender chimpanzees into a thoughtful discussion about luxury and privilege, about how we humans can surpass our instincts when we have sufficient resources to live outside the current physical moment.

You're writing specifically about transgender people and issues, but you could be writing about many things.

Why do humans diverge in behavior sometimes from what our primate biology would seem to suggest? Why do we think and dream so much about concepts that far surpass our needs to eat, clothe ourselves, find shelter, and reproduce?

When I first saw your draft, I thought you were going to trip over the naturalistic fallacy — the simplistic notion that "That which exists in nature is good."

Instead, you transcended it, no pun intended.
