This is probably a good place to observe that several cities and counties in California, like San Francisco, are feeling intense political pressure to criminalize the homeless. Some of the unhoused sleep in tents, which lawmakers declare criminal, and then cops rip the tents away, sometimes even destroying them, sometimes getting caught in the act on camera, sometimes threatening bystanders who are recording their depraved acts.

You know, It does get cold enough in California for people to die of exposure if they don't have shelter. Tents are shelter.

We Americans can be such a cruel, wicked people.
