This is how it works. This is how fascism happens. One of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the United States bought the Washington Post amid great concern that he would stifle their journalism.

Well, here we go. The Post had a Harris endorsement ready to print, and Jeff Bezos ordered them not to print it. Even his hand picked publisher, emeshed in ethical scandals from his prior career in the UK, resisted him. (But he didn't have the integrity to put it out there publicly. Publicly, he is a lap dog. That's what lack of ethics buys you.)

Presumably, Bezos is afraid of what might happen if Trump wins. And I guess all of his billions aren't enough. He evidently wants to make sure he's prepared to rake in many more billions. He isn't willing to risk Trump's enmity.

If that means enabling fascism, I guess that's just fine — because, you know, money is everything. It's the most important thing in the universe. Accumulating money is the reason we all live.
