This is an interesting story! I've often wondered what it would be like to move into an LGBTQ retirement community. What would the social dynamics be like? When my late partner and I used to volunteer for monthly SAGE tea dances in Greenwich Village, I noticed a little bit of highschool-like social jockeying.

Mostly, everything was great, but there was some relationship drama among the seniors, and occasionally some friend-group drama. Nothing unusual, just your ordinary human sort of thing.

But retirement communities for queer people are pretty darn new. You have an intimate vantage point into the dynamics of such groups. It's going to be interesting to see how things go for you and everyone in your new community!
