This is an industry begging for government regulation to protect privacy. I think it’s fair to say that people don’t want their every motion detected, their every location recorded. Most of us view that as not just intrusive, but highly unacceptably intrusive.

Industry will never be able to self-regulate in this arena. The temptation is just too high. It’s going to take the people acting through the elected representatives to mandate that employers respect basic levels of privacy.
