This is a serious pet peeve of mine! I can write a long, thoughtful article about something, only to have people who are “supporting” me on the issue do huge Twitter pile-ons with comments that have little to do with what I wrote and with which I don’t agree.

I can’t be responsible for all those comments. First, I don’t have time to reply to them all (who would?), and second, I already WROTE a 1,500 word article in which I clearly spelled out exactly what I DO think.

Most of the Twitter mob commenting can’t have read more than a handful of those 1,500 words — if they read any of them at all.

It should nobody that Twitter commenters misunderstand issues we write about. It’s just the way of Twitter. Few users dig in and read beyond the initial tweet.
