This is a little bit analogous of the struggle that some gay men and women have with our identities.

Some of us like being a little bit more radical and don’t particularly like emulating heteronormative society. We strike out on our own path and we value diverse modes of living.

Others of us want to settle down with a spouse and 2.2 kids and a white picket fence, figuratively of course.

And there’s nothing wrong with however anyone chooses to live. So long as we all respect one another. That’s really what it needs to be about.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender– all of us suffer from lack of respect from society in general to a certain extent. I think it behooves us to respect one another as much as possible.

If we can’t respect one another it’s so much harder to expect respect some people outside our communities.
