This ironic amendment points out something critical: Lawmakers are trying to stop parents from raising their children as they see fit. Some Christian parents send their children to Christian camps. I don't think that's a great idea, speaking as a gay person who felt traumatized at Christian camps. But it's a free country. Christian camps are beloved traditions among many Christian families. I don't have to like the tradition, but I don't get to force parents to stop sending their kids.

Some parents really love drag queen story hours. Kids aren't driving themselves to them. Some of those parents are LGBTQ themselves, and others are just people who value diversity.

People who don't like drag queen story hours can do exactly what people do who don't like Christian camps. Refrain from sending their children to them.

Problem solved.
