This critical message is one of the reasons I am so grateful to religious movements like Reform/ Conservative Judaism and much mainline Protestant Christianity, with their LGBTQ clergy and affirming theologies.

Children have to be taught to despise LGBTQ people, and when they aren’t learning in church or synagogue something is wrong with members of gender/sexual minorities, they are far less likely to internalize those values.
