Things are certainly rough job-wise. Fred has decided to pursue in MA in the fall, hoping that when things ever do get back to normal, more qualifications will be helpful. For the moment at least, he’s too burned out to pursue a PhD and consider a career in research.

I think he probably won’t be doing much but worrying about his oral defense for the next few weeks at least. Remote video defense of course!

Brian Fehler, I believe, has participated in some PhD oral defenses already this spring. It must make a nerve-wracking experience even more nerve-wracking!
