These are indeed frightening times! And we all do well to remember history. For those who think the Nazi comparisons are a bit over the top, how about Francisco Franco?

He united with the religious right in Spain and together with them led a reign of terror that did not end until 1975 — imprisoning and executing political dissidents and queer people among others.

There's no reason to believe that can't happen here. Obviously, that outcome is not inevitable. But we must all be ready to resist and revolt!
