There’s something to be said for finding love the old fashioned way. Tech can still be really helpful for meeting people without relying on a hookup app. Meetup.com once helped me establish a network of friends around a common interest (speaking French), and many of them turned out to be gay.

I’ve also met interesting guys at book clubs and writers groups. Art fairs are a good bet. Community theaters. LGBTQ affirming churches if you’re religious. I have a friend who volunteered at a hospital and ended up dating a really hot nurse.

Volunteering to help out with local Pride organizing or LGBTQ community outreach and hotlines can also be a great way to expand your gay social network.

You just never know!
