There's something really special about an old-fashioned made with really good bourbon, isn't there? I'm not a whiskey drinker, but I had some excellent bourbon over Christmas, and I quickly remembered how nice it is, how deep and complex the flavor profile can be.

Thinking about Campari always transports me back to my youth and a few weeks exploring the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. I can't take a sip without remembering the intense refreshment of Campari and water on an impossibly humid day.

Recently, I joined a wine club, because I can't get decent wine where I live without either paying an arm and a leg or driving a long distance. The club is great, because they seek out good wine at affordable prices, and they do a pretty good job.

I have a recurring order that doesn't deliver as much wine as even one glass per dinner, but it's so exciting to uncork a new selection and savor the scintillating first sips of discovery.

Not everything we do in life is 100% good for us. For me, alcohol in moderation adds joy to a day-to-day that isn't always joyful.

If I found myself getting drunk or having hangovers because I couldn't moderate my intake, I'd quit the wine club.

I'm glad I don't need to. And I'm glad I read your story!
